So, I’m glad that in my busy packing and moving, I’ve had little time to think of the separation anxiety I might have otherwise. My good-byes are a bit more than flippant, and not highly emotional; just good, hearty, casual farewells.
Friends and co-workers have given me a good send-off so far. Last week, the girls from work took me to Red Robin for my favorite Bonzai Burger. On my last day of work, Sonny bought pizza for the office and Dan sent over roses. I have a company dinner on Monday evening yet.
Emily and company arranged a nice send-off at the church. She decorated the room to look a bit frosty and everyone had to come up with Antarctic names for the desserts they brought. The most creativity was shown by Linda who brought a cake in the shape of a penguin! We also had Penguin Poo Brownies! Yum, Yum!
So, thank you for all of you who have been able to attend these events and thanks for all the e-mails and phone calls, too! I’m doing my best to follow up with messages. I apologize if they are slow responses!
